Cicladda is a 25 km route that invites you to discover the beating heart of the Lodi area at the leisurely pace that only a bicycle can offer. The route is completely flat and almost entirely paved, perfect for all types of cyclists, from families to more experienced travelers.

The journey begins in Zelo Buon Persico and follows the marked and protected “Dorsale dell’Adda” cycle path to the outskirts of Lodi. Shortly after the start is San Michele Park, an area of great natural value within the Adda Sud Park.

The entrance to the city of Lodi is monumental: you pass by the massive Torrione del Castello Visconteo and enter the historic center, reaching the majestic Piazza della Vittoria, overlooked by the austere Romanesque cathedral. A few steps from the square, the Tempio Civico dell’Incoronata, a true jewel of the Lombard Renaissance, is certainly worth a visit.

You leave the city crossing the Adda River on the famous Napoleonic Bridge (named in memory of the historic battle of 1796); the route continues along bike paths and quiet secondary roads. You pedal through a rural landscape, marked by canals and the silhouettes of ancient farm buildings.

Just before the destination, the route features its only short dirt section: about 400 meters of sheep track cutting through the fields. Once past this, a 2-kilometer detour to the left to visit Abbadia Cerreto is highly recommended. Here stands the splendid Abbey of San Pietro, founded in 1084 by Benedictine monks: a place of incredible silence and spirituality, perfect for a regenerating break.

Returning to the main route, the route passes Corte Palasio and finally ends in the ancient village of Casellario, along the banks of the Adda River, where a new tourist pier is being planned.

From Zelo Buon Persico to Lodi, follow the P1 signs for the Adda ridge.
